Who came out better on the Andruw Jones Departure?

Published by poopy head at 11:29 pm under Baseball, Professional Baseball, Sports Edit This

mark KotsayAndruw JonesWhat a season Mark Kotsay has put up so far. And what a terrible start Andruw Jones is going through. Currently, Andruw is sitting on the pine riding the Disable list. In the next few days, the braves fans will know if Mark Kotsay will in fact see the same fate with a bad back.

What is bad with the whole trade is it looks like both teams will currently be doing without the center fields for a while. And even if Andruw comes back, I would have to say the nod goes to the Atlanta Braves. And if for some reason they can not get Mark back, they have the luxury of finding out that Gregor Blanco is an outstanding center fielder in his own right and he is ready to step up to the plate.

Hmm. Andruw Jones signed as a free agent with the LA Dodgers.

You are correct in that he signed as a free agent. The portion that was what we Braves fans consider the trade is that Braves management completely pulled out of all talks with Andruw because we knew that we could not sign him for the amount that we wanted to. With that said, he was let go. Course, if you batted .222 as an everyday center fielder, would you have been kept. And yet this year he is sporting a .165 batting average. I would say that the Dodgers made a great acquisition. As for the Braves, it seems as though in this whole story, the Braves and Mark Kotsay are better off. As for the title, I changed it.

Rich, from what I understand at this time, he will be ok. He has just had some stiffness in the back.
