The College World Series is shaping up to be a great one as there are 6 games on tap for today’s Regional Finals. These games are being forced due to a team coming out of the losers bracket and beating a undefeated team. We will take a look at the teams and how it was done.

Georgia Bulldogs Georgia Tech YellowJackets The first that we come to on the interactive bracket on NCAA.com  was Georgia getting beat in their first game by Lipscomb 10-7 and then going into the losers bracket to squeeze by Louisville 9-8 and then thumb Lipscomb 14-3 for the chance to face Georgia Tech in which they soundly beat 8-0 to create a sudden death game today @ 7 PM EST. After yesterday’s game, today sure looks like it is shaping up to be a game to remember.

Stanford Cardinals Pepperdine Waves The next one to look at in the interactive bracket is Stanford as they feel in the opener 2-4 to UC Davis. After that, they got the balanced game back beating Arkansas 5-1 and then UC Davis 8-4 for the right to face Pepperdine in the  championship game. Once there, the bats woke up and the spanking began as the soundly beat Pepperdine 13-1 to force a sudden death game today at 4 pm EST. This one also looks like it is going to shape up to be another great contest between 2 great programs.

Florida State SeminolesTulane Greenwave The next game of interest is the Florida State Seminoles coming out of the losers bracket after losing their first game to Bucknell 7-0. Once this happened, Noles Nation the wondered if it would be a repeat of last years showing. The Seminoles answered that with their bats pounding out 58 runs over the next 3 games to force a sudden death match with Tulane. In the first game of the losers bracket, FSU squeaked by Florida 17-11 and then proceeded to dismantle Bucknell 24-9. Once on the field with Tulane, they once again took control and decisively beat Tulane 17-8 to force tonight’s 7 pm EST sudden death game.

The other 3 games that are being played today are worth mentioning also. They did not go into the losers bracket until they played their second game and lost. Cal State-Fullerton will take on UCLA @ 11:06 PM EST, Texas A&M will take on Houston @ 7:30 EST, and San Diego will play Fresno State is still to be determined. Today’s outcomes will set the best of three super regionals taking place June 6-9.
