There Can Only Be One
Saturday June 14th kicks off the 2008 College World Series Final Brackets. I like to refer to this as the Elite 8 as the eight best of 64 teams get set to do battle, Four teams will enter Bracket 1 and the other 4 teams will enter Bracket 2. The separate brackets will be set to double elimination rules. Once a team has won their bracket, they will play the winners of the other bracket in a double best of 3 series.
The first bracket is pooled by the Miami Hurricanes, Georgia Bulldogs, Florida State Seminoles, and the Stanford Cardinal. The winner of that bracket will face the winner of bracket 2 that is pooled by the North Carolina Tar Heels, Rice Owls, LSU Tigers, and the Fresno State Bulldogs.
It looks like it is going to be a great series as ALL of these teams have the ability to hit. It looks like once again pitching might be the difference in this series. Or maybe I should say that who has the arms that can last the longest might be the difference in the games. I look for both Georgia and Florida State to via for Bracket 1 and LSU and North Carolina to via for Bracket number 2. With that said, stay tuned to more updates.
