Brett Favre tells Green Bay goodbye
But not the way that you think. Green bay accepted Brett’s retirement at the end of last season and in March he told them that he was not 100% in the game anymore. Really at the age of 38 who can be 100% in football anymore. I for one was hoping that he would just sail off in the sunset and let me remember him as the Packer he was.
With that said, it does not look like that will be happening. Chris Mortensen of ESPN broke the story of Brett’s agent James “Bus” Cook overnighted letter to the Packers asking for the unconditional release of Brett Favre. It seems that apparently football is still running through is veins. For me, Brett is one of the greatest QBs to come through in a long time. I can put him there with Unitas, Marino, Bradshaw, and Greise to name a few.
With that said, I have to wonder if he can be a Peyton Manning day in and day out. Even more to the point, can he be a Brett Favre each and every Sunday? And if he can, where will he land? New Orleans, Atlanta, Miami, Arizona? Time will tell us.
