All*Star Game: What does it mean?
Years ago, if you remember back, there was a hiccup to the All-Star game. Managers ran out of pitchers and the game ended in a tie. After that game, the officials of Major League Baseball in all of the infinite wisdom decided that they would make sure that it never happened again.
Well, I think that they have yet to see the flaw in their thinking. To make the All*Star game the deciding factor to which league obtains the home field advantaged is ludicrous enough in my opinion. For years the team with the best record in baseball earned that right. And it should be that way.
The reasoning behind this is you are truly not taking the best players of the national league to play the best players of the American League. What you are doing is allowing America to choose who they want to see. And the bad portion of that is the fact that each and every team has to have an representative. What happens if there is not an All-Star on that team?
Things need to go back to the way they were and if a game is tied after 11 innings, then I think that you need to start the 12th inning.
