Panther Fever
You can say what you want about the Carolina Panthers, but the one thing that you can never say or call them is quitters. These boys of fall came out in today’s training camp hitting and tackling like they have a purpose. And I am sure that they do have one. If I am the one picking I would have Jake Delhomme at the quarterback position. With that, I would have DeAngelo Williams in the back field with almost any of the other backs in camp as a back up and short yardage back. The wide receivers are a no brainer to me. You put Muhsin Muhammad on one side and Steve Smith on the other side with Jason Carter and D. J. Hackett coming out of the slot position. Now, the clincher is the inside man and that tight end would be Dante Rosario for me. The line will be strong enough to give Jake the time he needs to find his man.
On the defensive side of the ball, Julius Peppers is about all I need to say. With that, the boys will be strong all the way around. I am looking for a phenomenal season from these guys and they are my pick to win the NFC South. I think they will go 11-5 making it into the playoffs.
Well, you still have not heard what I think about either the saints or the bucs, but I will say this for a lot of tommy johns surgeries. Most of them come back as good if not better. But it remains to be seen.
I agree that we will see good things this year from Carolina….. as long as Smith doesn’t beat up the rest of the team!
