Has the Vikings’ ship set sail?
Prior to today there was a lot of speculation of Brett Favre coming to the rescue of the Minnesota Vikings. With that being said, I never understood why. Tarvaris Jackson is the current starting quarterback for the Vikings. Are you telling me that they have no confidence in Jackson to lead them to the promise land? I honestly have to wonder what is going
through his head with all of those rumors flying around.
Jackson was the 64th overall pick of the 2006 NFL Draft. He signed a 4 year deal and got a million dollar signing bonus. He was heralded as being a “diamond in the rough”. I wonder how head coach Brad Childress views him now. I have to look at it this way. In a season that you went 8-8, Jackson was 8-4 as a starter. Wonder what happened the other 4 games.
Bottom line is Jackson is not the knight in shining armor sent to rescue the Vikings’ from Odin’s wrath for stinking up the Norse legend. I am sure that Odin was preparing to send the Valkyrie to collect this team. With that, this team actually does have a knight in shining armor. Well, actually make that two of them. They are in the form of Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor. These two guys might be the best 1 2 punch that any team can ask for at running back.
As harsh as it might sound, the Vikings need to either live or die by the sword. In one week and out the next is not going to build their team. As for me, I am voting for a 7-9 season and a benching of their starting quarterback by week 3.

Don’t see them doing much this season either.
Rich, I think that is pretty much the census.
