Nintendo Wii Fit

Published by poopy head at 6:18 pm under Sports Edit This

Nintendo is changing how you stay fit. The game produces Wii Fit, a new concept in getting exercise. Within the game console is 4 different categories that you can work on to get and stay fit. They are Yoga, Strength Training, Aerobics, and Balance games. We will break down all 4 of these categories later in this post.

First, I have to tell you that when I first got my Nintendo Wii, I thought that the sports pack was a workout enough. That is, until I tried the Wii Fit. Then I knew the Sports pack had nothing on Wii Fit. All the movement that takes place leaves one feeling like they just had a great workout. So, let’s take a look into the 4 categories of Wii Fit.

The first one mentioned in Wii Fit is Yoga. In this category you can do Half Moon, Deep Breathing, Cobra, Shoulder Stand, and Palm tree to just name a few. If one was to go through all of the exercises in Yoga, I would seriously think that they would be worn out. The Yoga will also help in correcting your posture. It also keeps track of your progress on-screen.

The next category that is mentioned is Strength Training. Too many people assume to do this you need weights. With this category of Wii Fit, it is a great way to strengthen and ton your muscles. It works you through push-ups, rowing squat, single leg extension, Leg Lift, and Torso Twist just to name a few. The Strength Training allows you to use your own body weight as the resistances to build and tone all muscles.

The next category mentioned is the Aerobics. We all know that there are many levels of Aerobics. In the Aerobics section of Wii Fit you can work on your endurance, stamina, and cardio all in one. There is a basic run, a hula hoop section, and even a 2 person run if you want to take a jog with a friend. This makes for a scenic run while waving to other Miis that are out for their stroll too. The last category mentioned for the Wii Fit is Balance games. Now these are designed for, you guess it, balance. They have a tight rope walk, heading soccer balls, or maybe ski jumping is for you. All in all, they will help to benefit your balance.

Now, one of the many great features of the Wii fit is that it allows for you to track your exercise as well as your progress. I am glad that I have gotten mine and that I can have fun while exercising. It has been a great help to motivate me to keep exercising.
