Tennessee Titans Remain Undefeated
The Tennessee Titans are trying to run the gauntlet this year to match what the New England Patriots did last season. So far they have managed to beat their first 6 opponents. Last year, the Titans only won a total of 10 games. So, with 10 games left, they definitely are in the drivers seat for their season. Two more wins ensures at least a .500 season. Three
more wins ensures a winning season. Four more wins ensures tying last season. Five more wins puts them ahead of last season. Seven more wins ensures that they at least tie for the Division Championship. Eight more wins gives them the Championship outright.
Now, with that being said, there are a ton of variables at play here. Tennessee has to win is the biggest of that. And they have to do this without any outstanding wide reciever like Terrell Owens, Randy Moss, or Marvin Harrison. On top of not having that high profile receiver, they do not have a back the likes of LT, Adrian Peterson, or Brian Westbrook. Also, they lack that high powered quarterback like a Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, or Tony Romo.
Instead of those players, they have a seasoned consistant QB named Kerry Collins He has a 56.4% completion rate and a 74.2 QB rate. As for their running backs, while rookie Chris Johnson has won over the starting job, LenDale White is still making it a 1 2 punch. Chris has 3 touchdowns and LenDale has 8, to combine for 11 of the teams 17. As for recievers, Kerry’s favorite target is his tight end Bo Scaife. He currently has 23 of the teams 87 receptions. Johnson is second with 14.
So, what does one have to do to beat this team? Well, that is easily found by looking on the other side of the ball. Tennessee is better defensively than most teams. This means that their defense preforms better than their opponents defense at game time. The Titans has 18 sacks on defense while their offense has given up only 2. The offense has scored 17 touchdowns while the defense has only given up 7. The defense has given up 6 field goals while the offense has kicked 10 of their own. The turn over ratio is +6 in favor of Tennessee. The offense has gained 1887 total yards while the defense has only given up 1611 to their opponents. When you look at the numbers, it is no wonder these boys from the Volunteer State are the only undefeated NFL team after week 7.
