Another One Bites the Dust

Published by poopy head at 12:02 pm under Football, Pro Football, Sports Edit This

I woke up this morning to a shocking surprise. Monday night saw the exit of Mike Nolan as the head coach of the ailing San Francisco 49ers. It also saw the emergence of what should be one of the best head coaches to appear in some time. Enter Mike Singletary, who was the assistant head coach under Nolan.

Now, for anyone that is unfamiliar with Singletary, he was a great Chicago player that brought a lot of charisma with him on the field. He is no different as a coach. He is respected by the team and by his peers. The question that I have is can he run this team under the complex offensive scheme that they have been playing. And an even better question would be, is this the right offense scheme for this team.

I think that these are 2 questions that will be answered in the weeks to come. I am happy to see Singletary finally get a shot at carrying the reins to a NFL team. I hate that it came at the demise of Mike Nolan. In Nolan’s case, I can see him rebounding quite easily as he is a great coach.

I am absolutely thrilled that Nolan is gone. He made some horrible calls and the Niners just did not thrive under his control. I think Singletary will lead the 49ers to great things, maybe even the playoffs. He knows the game, he’s respected and can rally a team. I’m really happy he’s with us. BTW thanks for the Athletic Alley heads up, I just saw my article in there this morning. And, thanks for reading and commenting on my blogs.

    Go Niners!!!
