Support one of our own
Typically, I write mainly about professional sports and more main stream sporting events. However, today, I am going to deter from my normally regiment and write an article for one of our very own.
For those that do not know Robin Green, you really need to get over and read her articles. Over the last few months, we have become great friends. Robin is the type of person that you just have to like. She is down to Earth and real. What you see with her is truly what you get and that I like about her.
Well, for those of you that do not know, Robin’s daughter is going to be racing this year. The season is about to get under way and both Robin and Nikki are excited. With that said, you can imagine what the out of pocket expenses are to get something like this off the ground. Now, typically I do not get into asking people to fork out their own hard earned money. And, frankly, I am not going to be asking for it here. Not even close so put the wallet away.
Here is what I would like to see the Today.com group do. Nikki and Robin found a sponsor and I think that is huge. The sponsor is Starving Racers and they require that driver create a blog, get people to join the site as a fan to her, as well as comment. For each of these actions,Nikki earns points that get her closer to being able to get the equipment that they need in order to race.
Personally, I have committed to this cause because I would love to know that one of our very own is behind the wheel with a chance to win. I know what kind of financial burden that this is and if it were not for sponsors like Starving Racers and people like you, then people likeNikki might never realize their dream. So, will you help?
All you have to do is visit Starving Racers and sign up. When they ask for the driver, enter the name Nikki and it will confirm her. It is hard for one to do anything. It is easy for a community like Today.com to make a loud noise. Thanks for your time and here is to hearing about all the races that Nikki wins in 2009.
This is so great! She is very excited about racing and we were lucky to find out about this sponsorship program. The money has just been crazy so any help we can get is wonderful. Starvin Racers supports all kinds of drivers all over the US. It has been so much fun just getting this far. I can’t wait till we are all the way winning some races.
